Winter Storm Warnings are in Effect for Colorado Rockies, with Multiple feet of Snow Expected

The Colorado Rockies and Intermountain West are likely to be blanketed in snow this week, with isolated areas seeing up to 4 feet of the white stuff, according to forecasters.

The National Weather Service reported that snow is expected to peak between Tuesday and Wednesday, with areas above 9,500 feet expected to receive as much as 10 to 20 inches of snow.

On Tuesday night, the Palmer Divide ridge in Colorado’s central foothills, along with the whole southern foothills of that state, will be under winter weather advisories.

The National Weather Service has indicated that the Denver metro area and the Palmer.

Divide area will see rain on Tuesday morning replaced by snow early on Tuesday afternoon.

Several inches of snow are expected to accumulate along the Continental Divide during the coming days.

Winter storm warnings have been issued for this area from 11 p.m. on Sunday through 5 a.m. Thanksgiving Day.

In Pueblo, the weather service forecast rain and snow over the plains and mountain valleys on Wednesday but described the details as vague.

As the upper Midwest and lower Great Lakes continue to be covered in snow showers there is a good chance that the Upper Peninsula of Michigan will receive several inches of snow.
