Storm Bert Causes Police to Warn Against road Travel
Scotland may experience more heavy snowfall on Saturday as Storm Bert is expected to bring more heavy snowfall.
Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Perth and Kinross, and Angus are already subject to an amber warning from the Met Office.
Travel and power supplies are likely to be affected by severe weather on Saturday from 07:00 to 17:00.
Throughout the northern belt of Scotland, Police Scotland has issued a warning.
Over the weekend, Scotland was also issued several yellow “Be aware” weather warnings due to snow, high winds, and heavy rain.

Vinnie Fisher, deputy head of the Road Policing division, said: “People should consider whether adverse weather impacts their driving.
Keep an eye out for media broadcasts, follow Transport Scotland and the Met Office on social media, and share information.”
Several rural communities may be cut off by deep snow, particularly on higher roads.
There might also be power outages or telephone network interruptions.

- Winter weather warnings for central Scotland, Tayside, and Fife from noon to 10 am on Friday
- Snow and ice on Thursday and Friday for Highlands, Western Isles, and north-east Scotland. Occasionally, 10cm of snow could fall
- Wind gusting to 60mph over the Highlands and Western Isles from 5:00 to 19:00 Saturday. Winds of up to 70 mph along the coast
- Rain and snow for Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Perthshire, and Angus between 07:00 and 17:00 on Saturday. Possibly 40cm accumulation on hills above 400m, with 20cm accumulation on ground above 200m
- Mainland Scotland, Skye, and the Inner Hebrides, 10-20 cm of snow accumulations on the ground above 150m, with perhaps 20-40 cm above 300m. Rainfall could reach 20-40 mm in upland areas
Poor road conditions forced schools in Highlands, Moray, and Aberdeenshire to close on Thursday.
Rail disruption continued into the weekend, ScotRail said, urging people to check their routes.
