Snow, Wind, and Rain bring the UK’s Weather to a Halt During Storm Bert

When Storm Bert came ashore in parts of the UK, the storm caused widespread disruption of the travel infrastructure in his wake. This is due to heavy snowfall, heavy rain, and strong winds.

Scotland and parts of northern and central England have suffered heavy Storm Bert snowfalls in the past few days, accompanied by heavy rain as well as wind and a southerly wind that has also swept across southern England and Wales.

It appears that several yellow weather warnings are still in effect after an earlier amber warning was lifted. In addition, warnings of flooding and power outages are being issued to communities.

Some of the major travel routes within the country are heavily disrupted, with flights canceled and highways closed as a result.

This collection of weather photos you’ve sent us through the Weather Watchers group on the BBC is an excellent way to show how the weather has been around the UK over the last few days. Click on the link below to take a look at what’s on offer.
