Snow, Rain, and Ice are Expected in Northeastern areas Tuesday Night

Poconos, Schuylkill County, and far Northeastern New Jersey remain under a Winter Weather Advisory until early Tuesday Night.

Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, and Lebanon are now included in the Winter Weather Advisory.

Snow, sleet, and freezing rain will mix this evening before changing to rain overnight from south to north. Snow and ice accumulations should be light, but even these amounts could make driving slippery.

Poconos, Schuylkill County, and far northern New Jersey will be most affected by the Monday morning commute, as well as roads.

Snow or mixed snow, sleet, and freezing rain are expected to move in north of the I-78 corridor this evening. The I-78 corridor is expected to see all rain after midnight, but the I-80 corridor may not see rain until Monday morning.

Snow and sleet accumulations should reach 2-3 inches across the Pocono Plateau and 1-2 inches throughout the rest of the Poconos, northern New Jersey, and Schuylkill County.

While most spots south of the Blue Mountain ridgeline and around the I-78 corridor are likely to receive less than an inch of snow.

Freezing rain should cause less than a tenth of an inch of ice. Philadelphia’s metro area, the I-95 corridor, and the southeast are expected to experience snow, sleet, and rain.
