Snow Ploughs Devastate New Avenue project in first major Snowfall
Snow Ploughs Sharilyn Knox, mayor of Portage la Prairie, issued a statement about plowing on Saskatchewan Avenue West, which caused damage to some of the renovations.
Mild weather followed by significant snowfall does not usually result in such issues. It is possible that the ground was not granted enough time to experience a major freeze, which is what could lead to challenges like the ones mentioned above.
The mayor said residents should not be concerned that their grass or shrubs have been damaged since the city is committed to tackling the issue, and residents can expect that whatever steps need to be taken to fix the problem will be taken by the city.
It is important for us to maintain the safety as well as the functional efficiency of our infrastructure during winter events as much as possible.”

A few days ago, Portage la Prairie had its first significant snowfall in several decades. As a result, snow ploughs from the province have been plowing down Saskatchewan Avenue in order to reopen the roadway and allow motorists to park.
In the event that the new layout of the property does not yield the expected results, the additional lawn segments and elegant sidewalk lights will likely not be able to flourish.
As a result of the damage caused by plow tires, small ruts were found in the freshly laid grass, and some shrubs were torn down.
Also, because the province was involved, some residents questioned who would be responsible for the damage. If you drive by, you won’t see the damage, but if you zoom in, it becomes obvious.
