Snow Blankets Seoul in Heaviest November Snowfall in History

Seoul experienced the heaviest November snowfall since record-keeping started over a century ago in 1907 when Seoul records began.

It is believed that the South Korean capital received a total snowfall of 16 cm on Wednesday, a record amount of snow for this city, beating the previous record of 12.4 cm set in November 1972.

A significant disruption was caused throughout the country as a result of this incident, with local media reporting that flights had been grounded and that roads had been closed, in addition to transport services being delayed.

Several people have been reported to have died in a traffic accident near Seoul that was caused by the weather.

As reported by AFP news agency, Youn Ki-han, the head of Seoul’s Meteorology Forecast Division, said that the heavy snowfall was caused by a westerly wind which was blowing strongly, as well as a significant temperature difference between the sea surface and the cold air.

Heaviest November On Wednesday night and Thursday morning, heavy downpours are expected.

As the weather has turned cold in recent days, the region has enjoyed a period of mild autumnal temperatures over the past few weeks.

As recently as last week, I felt as if the autumn of Heaviest November had been a bit warm, but it feels like in just one week it has completely transformed into a winter wonderland, which is quite a contrast from what I had been feeling,” said businessman Bae Joo-han.
