Saskatchewan Experiences icy Conditions due to Snowfall and Freezing Rain
Saskatchewan Highway Hotline does not recommend driving in most parts of the province on Tuesday.
Highways have been affected by a storm system bringing snow, rain, and freezing rain.
Meadow Lake, Big River, Green Lake, and Pierceland are all under a freezing rain warning as of 10:00 am CST.
Weather warnings have been issued for Saskatoon, Battlefords, Lloydminster, Maple Creek, and Yorkton.
Highway travel is not recommended between Meadow Lake and Battlefords and Saskatoon.
According to the Highway Hotline, Highway 1 from Wolseley to the Manitoba border, Highway 16 from Lloydminster to Dafoe, and Highway 11 from Saskatoon to Davidson should be avoided.

In some places, such as Saskatoon, Environment Canada forecasts 20 centimeters of snowfall this weekend.
Despite being forecast for up to 10 centimeters of snow overnight, Saskatoon did not experience snow until around 5:00 am CST.
Rather than rain, it was freezing rain that fell overnight.
Saskatoon is still predicted to get 10 centimetres of snow today, along with Battlefords, Kindersley, Outlook, and Melfort. It is possible today for Yorkton, Kamsack, and Humboldt to receive 15 centimetres of snow.
Highway 16 between Delmas and North Battleford was blocked by RCMP at 12:55 pm CST. As far as we know, no injuries occurred.
In order to stay safe on the roads, motorists are encouraged to be alert at all times.
