Canada is One of the world’s Most Relaxing Destinations

Canada isn’t typically associated with relaxing destinations, such as white sand beaches and warm waters.

BookRetreats’ latest Holiday Relaxation Report shows that True North ranks among the leading places in the world for R&R.

This website analyzed 76 places across five categories: safety, solitude, serenity, nature, and wellness. Different weights were assigned to each criterion.

We considered several factors (forest coverage, crowd density, noise, and light pollution, peacefulness, and total wellness experiences). Afterwards, each destination was given a score out of 100.

In terms of relaxing destinations, Australia ranked first, scoring 73.8 out of 100.

Australian holiday destinations often aren’t as crowded as destinations in Europe, said BookRetreats.

This ranking can be attributed to the country’s combination of a natural landscape and a low number of tourists, according to the travel website.

In addition, it has over 700 national parks, which have been recognized for their natural beauty.

There are also 4,700 wellness experiences available in Australia, which also contributed to its ranking as the world’s number one.

Among the top 25 destinations, only Canada earned a silver medal with a score of 72.5.

“Travel in Canada is defined by nature,” states the website. In Canada’s untouched wilderness, you will find the largest collection of lakes in the world, as well as the mesmerizing aurora borealis.”

A silent retreat in eastern Ontario and thermal springs in the Rockies are among the 4,724 wellness experiences offered by Canada.

Five other countries made up the top five, including Iceland, Finland, and New Zealand.

As far as travel rankings are concerned, Canada has done well.

Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Awards participants ranked it among the best countries in the world in October.

Recently, Travellust magazine named Canada the second most desirable country in the world, right behind the number one nation, Australia.
