Alberta is Expected to Receive Heavy Snowfall Through the Weekend
Alberta is expecting a snowy weekend after a mild fall until this week.
Snowfall totals of 15 to 25 cm are likely in other areas, while up to 35 cm may fall in eastern Alberta by Saturday night.
Several areas in southern Alberta will see more than 10 cm of snow by Saturday morning as snowfall spreads northward.
Snow is expected to fall from 10 to 25 cm on Saturday.

Heavy snow this weekend may reduce visibility, making it difficult to navigate roads, walkways, and parking lots.
The Calgary Transit Commission has activated snow detours at 8 p.m. because of snow. Monday morning is the estimated end date for the detours.
ECCC meteorologist Stephen Berg said the snowfall, which came after a mild fall in Alberta, signals colder, possibly snowier weather ahead.
Berg said Friday that a weak La Nia means a cooler, snowier winter for the Prairie provinces. The weak La Ni will likely override other factors due to other factors.”
Alberta’s weekend snowfall was caused by the bomb cyclone that hit B.C. over the weekend.
Berg said the low-pressure system is developing on the other side of the Rockies in the foothills of Montana.
Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings in southern and central Alberta, as well as in southern Saskatchewan, as far east as Moose Jaw.
A heavy snowfall is expected on Friday and Saturday, followed by a lighter snowfall on Sunday. Watch out for reduced visibility.
